Formed in 2025, Going West began as a
three-piece with a passion for Irish folk and indie. What started with a
few jam sessions quickly evolved into something much bigger. Now a
five-piece powerhouse, Going West have grown into a vibrant,
full-fledged Celtic rock band with roots from traditional Irish music,
indie, folk and classic rock.
Brian takes the lead with his powerful,
soaring vocals and commanding stage presence, known for his ability to
captivate audiences with emotional depth and authenticity. Regina brings
infectious energy, adding melodic richness with the accordion and
weaving in a distinctive Celtic charm. Maggie elevates the band's sound
with her virtuosic fiddle playing and hauntingly beautiful vocals,
adding layers of tradition and instrumental brilliance that cuts through
every song. Jimmy is the glue of the band, holding everything together
with his rock-solid bass lines, while Joe drives the band's energetic
sound with his unique suitcase drum set, commanding every beat with
precision and passion—sometimes while holding a Guinness.
Blending folk lyrics with lively rhythms and
rich harmonies, every performance hits straight to the heart. Their
sound is powered by a bold mix of influences from The Sawdoctors, The
Cranberries, Ed Sheeran, Mary Black, The Pogues, Mumford and Sons,
Dolores Keane, Dermot Kennedy, and Oasis, to name a few. Whether it's a
foot-stomping anthem or a toe-tapping ballad, every song reflects their
deep commitment to staying real, raw, and authentic.
Going West continues to evolve—one song, one
story, and one unforgettable show at a time.
